Kennel Stolta Ebbas
We, Kent and Erika Karlsson, are the
owners of Kennel Stolta Ebba. We live in
a typical, old Swedish farmhouse from
the 17'th century in the northern part
of Västra Götaland, between the big
lakes in the south of Sweden. Kent had
no experience in dogs before he met
Erika but now he is also totally devoted
to a family life with a bunch of active
Danish/Swedish Farm dogs around. Since
childhood Erika has been a dog owner and
a member of Svenska Brukshundklubben (SBK),
and she has also been very active in the
Swedish Danish/Swedish Farm dog club for
several years. Our son Jonathan has been
very active with Stolta Ebba, they have
competed in dog shows in junior handling
and have also taken some courses at the
local SBK-club.
The name of our kennel comes from the
first Farm dog that came in to our life
and filled our hearts with passionate
love - thereof our love in and
fascination of the breed Danish/Swedish
Farm dog. Her name is Rippåsens Stolta
Ebba , Proud Ebba in English, and she is actually our son
Jonathan’s dog. When she was about 8
weeks old we went to her breeder to
bring her home to us. Jonathan
immediately concluded that if we would
call on her with that long name she
would have time to both come & disappear
before we had time to state the name
completed! So, he decided that Stolta
Ebba would be called Lady - a name that
matches here "personality" more than
well!
Kennel
Stolta Ebbas has a small breed in our
home. Our dogs are born in our bedroom
where they stay until they are around 3
weeks old. When they are big enough they
move downstairs were they live together
with us in our home as family members.
There they get used to all "homely"
noises with kids running, hugging,
cuddling & playing with them. And as
soon as they are old enough they get to
come out into the garden with their
mother.
Our breeding goal is to breed
healthy and social Danish/ Swedish Farm
dogs with a mentality that functions
well in today's society and with their
owners. But we have also a vision to
breed dogs of the correct type following
the Swedish Kennel organisation (SKK)
rules about ethics & breeding and the breed
standard. We are members of the Swedish
Kennel Club and the Swedish official
Breed Club for the Danish/Swedish Farm
dog.
